It's known that the control system of Gothic 1 wasn't the best in those days, and today it has aged very badly... I was wondering, isn't out there some kind of amatorial patch that gives a NORMAL control system to this amazing game?

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any such mod excists. I think you will just have to play the game and get used to the combat system if you want to play the game.
Sorry but the controls are quite static, IIRC.
You can rebind the controls as you please, but actions will still require two keys.
Note that Gothic II gets around this by including an alternate control scheme.
Controls are perfectly normal, but it does take the effort of going into menu and remapping it to WASDQERXC+SPACE+TAB+Mouse...

Sorry to drag this thread back up, but I have to disagree. Once you remap the movement keys (WSAD, Jump etc...), I just love the Gothic 1 control scheme. So much so, that i still use it in G2 despite the dumbed-down alternate control scheme available. It does take some getting used to, but once you do, it's very intuitive and fluid and allows fo a lot of tactical options rather than just mindlessy left-clicking (like most other melee combat schemes).
Rather than "aged very badly", I wish more developers had followed PB's lead.....
