First of all I did not get the intro video so I went into the .ini and i fixed that, but now I get to the main screen with Start new adventure/ etc.. and I cannot see my mouse or scroll through the options. So I crl+Alt+Delete out of that and I get the error message "X:XD3D_InitPerDX: Can't create D3DX Context ! Error: D3DXERR_UNSUPPORTEDMODE." I've tried to run in xp and as an administrator and I still cannot get it to work any ideas?

If you don't have the latest avalible video card drivers for your card try updating those. You could also try installing directx 9.0c if your on a vista or win7 machine and never installed it before.

If neither of those help could you please post your system specs and OS?

Yeah still didn't work after i did what you suggested

Memory: 3070MB RAM
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 cpu 4300 @ 1.8GHZ (2 CPUs), ~1.8 GHz
DirectX: 10
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4350

According to the Worldofplayers website :

'Sometimes the video driver for certain resolutions do not want to full screen mode (combination of driver, card, DirectX, Windows - cause unknown).
Usual workaround: add a different resolution 'by hand' in the System / Gothic.ini and / or try other resolution of the desktop (recommended 32-bit).'

Check the .ini file for the screen settings - they should look something like this :

zVidResFullscreenX = 1024
zVidResFullscreenY = 768
zVidResFullscreenBPP = 32

Your numbers may vary, of course - try changing them to see if you can find one that works.

There are other steps you can take if that doesn't work - here's a link to the Technical Help thread - it's in German so you may need to hit it with the ol' Google translate :)

Open notepad with administrator permission first then open the config, It should then allow you to save the changes.
