The guy fixing my PC just found a virus on Gothic 2. I know coming from here is impossible but I was tweeking it to get it to run with some patches.

Has anyone ever found anything dubious with a patch or mod for Gothic 2?

I'd like to know for myself and for anyone thinking of modding it themselves.
Occasionally, GOG's compatibility and DRM removal fixes are falsely identified as viruses by certain overzealous virus scanners, so it is possible that your mods and patches are not at fault here.
I had a similar issue. Hopefully it's as benign as cogadh suggested...

My security suite flagged spacer2.exe as problematic upon a new install. It seems there is a history behind this dating back to 2009.

More than one security program flags it. I'm uninstalling until I find out more about it.
If you are worried, send the info about it to GOG Tech. Support. I think they would be better to say a thing about the matter... but yeah - I higly doub that there was something with the game from here. I would say it's more possible that the virus just attacked this file instead of being there. GOG, and other publishers like that, always check files.
