Back when I first played the game, in the Stone Age or so, I remember clear as day that whenever an enemy charged at me with a running-attack - and this includes animals as well as unsophisticated attackers such as orcs - if I turned the mouse while they were near me, the NPCs would also turn, potentially being sent away from me.
I recently installed the game and I no longer observe this behaviour. I wonder why. Well, I suppose it's a good thing, since it was a dumb as hell mechanic, even if this means I can no longer cheese my way through certain situations. But at this point I'm simply curious.
Is there a setting in Gothic.ini that governs this? Could it be the difference between GoG and retail versions? The modern Systempack? Ironkeep Patch? No, I used to play with Ironkeep Patch before...
Anyone got any insight on what determines if this effect will be present or absent in the game?
EDIT: looks like System Pack is what makes the difference.
