I have tested it with a FB and a staff that grants fire mage perk

Tbh, with or without it the FB seems to do the same /or almost the same/ dmg. Isn' t it supposed to increase the dmg of fire spells?

If its only a prerequisit to get firerain it would be a waste of 3 levels as i will not be taking firerain most probably.

It should double the base damage of the spell but if you have AK of 300 or more, the AK component of the damage is going to be much higher than the base damage so the total damage isn't that much higher in percentage.

Ok. That explains a lot. My AK is currently at 424 :) and it will raise :)

It applies to all spells, be it fb, meteor or firerain, right?

So if i have no intention of getting firerain I might as well skip the firemage perk altogether and get more utility spells - after all it 30 LP !
