I'm surprised no one ever EVER on the history of the Internet has dedicated any forum pages to their love of Gothic quotes.
Playing through these games again and again I just can't help but take notice of the NPC banter around me, their strange overuse of uncommon words, phrases, etc.
Anyway, I've been quoting the game like mad lately, walkin' around, doin' that weird fist movement, i.e., slowly bringing it (your fist) to your forehead as you tilt your head forward then jolting your arm outward like you're about to point to something, saying things like:
-"Hey! you quit that creepin' around here!"*
-"I can't take anymore of this blatherin'!"*
-*Yawn* "Another day...and nothing has changed."
-"I'll give you what for!" (usually prefaced with a "Why I oughttaaaaaa!!"--a phrase I'm not sure is in the games, but is just begging to come before the What For).
*Can be changed up some as there are numerous variations of said quotes.

I was particularly fond of walking through town in Gothic II and hearing a soft-spoken matronly type say, "Shut up, don't tell me that!' to her confidant, who would reply,
"That's what my husband says."
Over, and over, and over. and over.
