Hi,
I've recently started playing Gothic 1 on win XP and it looks like a great game.
Having read on the forum the quicksave feature was bugged I didn't use it and have a regular save file.
Now, my last saving point is in the Old Camp, at night, by the fire near the arena. I've tried loading this game for 5-6 times, and as soon as loading is finished and the game screen appears, BANG, crash and back to desktop.
On top of the usual win XP message ("GOTHIC encoutered a problem, etc..."), I get this message every time:

Can anyone help me? I'd like to play this game without fearing every time I save the game...Thanks a lot in advance!

The savegame is most likely corrupted. Remember to save in multiple slots to avoid getting totally fucked over. Also, try and contact the GOG support team with this and a dxdiag. They might have a fix, but don't count on it.

I guess you're right, Duffi. I might as well start over...
Thanks for the advice!
Put the savegame on rapidshare, then I could try if it works for me.
But the chances are slim at best.

How could I forget this!? Please, try and do this MasodikTiasma. And if you still can't get your save game to work, then remember to delete it. Don't overwrite with another save game, as it can be corrupted easily as well.

Thank you both for your trouble. Unfortunately I already deleted the savegame and started a new game already.
Duffi, I'll be sure to follow your advice and not overwrite.
