I'm trying to play Gothic 1 in Windows 7.
It's installed but when I try to run it as administrator nothing happens.
A process called GOTHIC.exe is created but it doesn't seem to work, if I try again multiple similar processes are created.
I tried killing these processes and restarting, and I also tried disabling the User Account Control follwing the instructions in the support page.
Also note that I have installed the vanilla game with no modifications whatsoever.
Please, if someone knows how to fix this kind of problem help me. Feel free to ask for any extra information you need and forgive my English.
Thanks.
Edit: I tried every compatibility mode. Same problem wtih most of them, but with 95 and 98 I get error "0xc0000142", no idea what it means.
PD: I couldn't post this message initially becouse there was a link to the support page in it. Maybe the users should be warned when this happens to avoid confusion.
