Hey, I don't know if this will help some of you but it sure made my day. I couldn't get Gothic 2 to run in anything but windowed, probably due to my multi-GPU Video Card (690) and its drivers, I actually had to restart a few times as it completely locked up my system.

I own VMware Workstation 9, so I loaded up my XP operating system on the VM with 3D acceleration. I thought it was going to be unplayable due to the emulated video (you need to install VMware tools), But to my surprise, it ran beautifully. Smooth as butter. if you run in exclusive mode, it can be completely transparent to your windows 7 x64 system.

I don't know if the free version would work, but for the price of the full software package its worth the money. You can even take snapshots any time you like and restore that exact point.
