I'll keep it as short as poss:

- Installed G2 started playing (GOG version)
- All was fine for about 5 hours of playing (in bursts not in one sitting)
- Went to load an existing save and the game quits and a large, ominous message appears headed "Access Violation".

There are similar errors from searching google but apparently, no solution.

Quick specs:
- W7 x64
- NVIDIA GT420
- Latest drivers installed
- Running app as admin

Sounds like the "Guru" bug. I'm not a techy; I've gotten around this simply by using a recent save and doing something different. Its a very well known bug - probably some answers here if you look for get the guru or something similar.

Thanks - I did try loading my previous save before asking for help and I still got the access violation message. After reading your response I loaded an even older save and that one worked. Seems strange but I'm just glad it worked.

When I get a moment, I'll pursue a differnet quest and it'll hopefully be fine.
