I have lost the Key and I'd be happy if anyone knew a way to get them back.
Apparently, if you select an item in the inventory and press Escape, this item vanishes from the inventory.
Any ideas, except restarting the game?

this is late. but nope. this game tends to make items disappear A LOT...
