It seems to be fixed at a really low and ugly resolution (probably 640x480)
is that hard coded or can i fiddle with something to get it looking nice on my 22in viewsonic lcd?

Well I've -heard- people say that it is locked into 800x600. However I think there may be a way to edit the ini to increase that, I'd have to play with some lines to see if any work or not.

All the graphics is made in the fixed res and it would have to be redrawn in order to increase it, co I doubt it will be possible.
But with that said, the game looks fine on my 24" 1920*1200 LCD :P.

There was that res mod for fallout, noones done something similar?

It looks horrible on my 13' screen with 1600x900...just a small square in the center of the screen...there has to be some way to fix it...or this was not worth buying it...unfortunatelly, because it was a great game.

First of all: Is the height of the screen completely covered by the game? or are there black areas above and below?

If there are, that sounds as if your display/video card is set to keep original resolution instead of scaling to cover as much of the screen as possible. By the size and resolution I assume the screen is a notebook's display. What is your video device?

Keep in mind that even with that option configured correctly, with that screen format, you will get black stripes 200 pixels wide at the sides.

P.S.: I don't own the game and have not tried it at all.

Hahaha... 2009, didn't see the date before. Still, I have received responses in posts over 2 years old, maybe this will be a new record.

Can Windowed program work for other games... like say Summoner?


Edit: This works but it seems to make the game run slow, looks like I have some tweaking to do.

Soo.. I've noticed this response only 5 months too late..anyway, sure it can (or may not) work for other games, all you have to do is try :) I only found that through google and it worked for me, I'm not involved in that project - but it looks like as it may be a solution for some old games resolution troubles..
