I have put the second candelstick in every position from left to right and right to left on the altar and cannot get the new area to open up. I have read all of the walkthroughs and looked at the video walkthroughs and although I am doing what they say, NOTHING. Totally frustrated. Any suggestions?

SOLVED. Apparently you have to choose the action icon (+sign in magnifying glass) and the candlestick will automatically move to the correct position. It was sheer coincidence that I found this. Most of the time, the only icon available when you are possessing the candlestick is the "see" icon. Or you can right click to drop the candlestick.
