I'd recommend not reading any further if you haven't beaten the game yet but have a desire to do so.

Has anyone found a use for the medical kit in the first chapter? You start with two supplies and can get more by exchanging hostages, but I never saw how / when the supplies get used.

Why do the potential antidotes in Chapter Three not affect SGT Burden? Because *spoilers* he's a video game character?

Similarly, why doesn't he have to eat during the month they wait for the rescue vessel? The implication is that he is something other than human, but considering the work he gets done on him during Chapter Two you'd think that would have come up. Say, when his body is ripped in half on the rack.

Does he get his magic time travel / respawn powers when he falls into the void at the end? How'd he get there the first time, since Liam tries to kill him before that point and the only way he survives the fight is by knowing what Liam is going to do from having fought him before. That's like not needing to build a time machine because my future self with just come back with my time machine and give it to me...
Don't the medical kits get used when you shoot a hostage in the foot and heal him again afterwards?
Regarding Burden's 'powers', I completed one of the challenges for Chapter 5 and it unlocked 'Burden's Diary 5' in the Gallery. This is what it says:

"Everytime I return from a mission I'm interviewed by Agent Amber and her investigations into my "anomaly". It seems she's trying to trigger something in me, running me through outer space walk simulations and requiring me to write down the contents of my dreams.

I couldn't put the pieces together until I started dreaming about people I hadn't even met. Liam Ferohn-Gau, Shaman... and Xenolifer. I wasn't long after that that ECUK assigned Jack and I to infiltrate Xenolifer. I still can't shake the image of Amber's face after I told her about our last assignment. She looked like she'd seen a ghost."

I'm sure that the other diaries will give more backstory, but there's no way I can be bothered to replay every chapter until the RNGods let me unlock them. I didn't even complete Chapter 5 legitimately.
