I'm pretty sure there was somewhere the option to enable tutorial when you start the game, maybe you switched it off?

But to answer your question, to proceed a day on the left side you see your prophets and you have to give them a bonus. Other than that you can also spend your resources to do stuff, all the buttons on screen are there for something just click around.
