In this post it is mentioned GOG's version of Gobliiins Pack has compressed audio files which makes the game offered here inferior. I couldn't find any information on this in the subforums so I would appreciate if anyone can confirm this.

You mean the seperate soundtrack files you can download as extra? They are .mp3, if you mean something else tell me since I am quite a noob about audio things ;-)
Yes, the in-game audio tracks are 192kbps mp3 files. You can find them in the subfolders for the CD versions in the install folder (the files are called "Track1.mp3").

EDIT: Yep, as DeMignon says, non-mp3 files would be huge. The originals were actual CD audio tracks, no compression. I suppose it's possible to include those ripped into WAV or FLAC instead of MP3, but that would depend on ScummVM's ability to play those formats.

I wouldn't second that. All Gobliiins titles come in a CD and a Floppy version. The floppy versions doesn't have quality sound files anyway and the CD versions offer sounds compressed in one big MP3 (44100Hz 192 kb/s, Joint Stereo), no OGGs like stated in the post.
It could be that the original Gobliiins has got the sounds stored in a big uncompressed wave file on the CD, but according to the current MP3s that would be roughly a file of 350 MB per game. Compressed to ZIP it's still around 280 MB, so for all three games in this bundle, the download would be at least 690 MB bigger (840 MB zipped Wave file - 150 MB of the current MP3 files). Don't know if it's worth it for such an old game, that has no such sounds in the original floppy version anyway. MP3s offer reasonable quality.

but you second that it is compressed? I think whether it is worth it due to the size is another matter.

Yes it's compressed, but I wouldn't say it's inferior. It's a DOS game, originally released on floppies, with no such sound at all. Further the compression alone doesn't say anything about the original sound files. I suspect them to be a rather low quality uncompressed PCM format like most games from that time offer and I wouldn't consider this to be superior to the inclueded MP3 files, because you don't hear any difference at all. Still, as a matter of fact, the files are compressed and MP3 isn't lossless, so from a captious point of view, MP3 is always inferior to it's uncompressed source.
