...and reinstalling does not work. I've tried to run both the non-expanded and patched versions. I've just upgraded from XP to Win7 - where should I put the dll file if I find it somewhere? Also - why does this not come with the game?

[EDIT] Stupid me - haven't checked if my new computer has the latest DirectX version. Why doesn't Microsoft number the versions according to new releases? Complain complain :D

Hi, I just wanted to add that I had the same problem today and this thread helped me fix it.

I installed DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft and the game worked great.
