You can remap the controller layout in the game's settings.

It's not GoG's fault that devs these days insist on using those crappy systems that are specifically designed for 360 controllers even though if they supported standard controller layouts it would work with 360 controllers automatically. That's mostly their fault for using crap like the XNA framework and etc for simpler porting (aka laziness.) Giana Sisters goes well above and beyond by letting you use a standard gamepad if you just use the configuration to remap what it thinks is what button and from there you can configure it however you like to suit your preferences (thus instead of being super-limited like most of these sorts of games, it's almost as if it were like an older game just with an added layer of unnecessary complication no doubt caused by whatever system they chose to use.)

It's not GoG that needs to change, it's those devs who insist on using 360 controller only systems.
