I have found the guard on the ramparts,the one you can see from where Silas is, but, has no Instructions on him!! I know he is the right Guard I have watched videos to make sure I have the right location.
This is a game breaker for me, no point in carrying on. No hope of a refund either.

Anyone else with this problem?

Might be you're looking at the wrong guard. IIRC it was not the one that patrols the length of the rampart, but the one that walks across the bridge from the rampart to the far tower and back. If this is about the combination for the rings to open a secret wall (my memory is hazy here), you can always brute-force the solution or look it up on the internet so that you're not stuck. Another idea is to check your inventory for the paper in case you've already picked it up accidentally.

Thank you for replying. That is the guard I am talking about, he does not have any papers on him.
Now he is gone disappeared.

There aren't a lot of possible combinations with the ring puzzles, just leave one ring alone and try all the positions with the other, then move the first by one position and try all the positions of the second and so on. Shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes.

I checked – Tilo has to steal the note in order to get crucial dialogue options with the pirate frog, and the guard disappearing is a know bug. But I believe it was corrected in the latest patch.
