I am in the first room of the game and l can not find the "screaming Key" required to escape the jail .. I have tried and tried - l find the door key ok , then l am stuck as l need the screaming key to unlock the jail door ..
I have been around the little dungeon room so many times , all to no avail ..
Help - where is the screaming key please ? I can not continue playing until l get out of the dungeon jail ..

From your message it looks like you haven't crossed the second door... I have started a new game and I have seen that a message indeed appears for a second saying that you need the screaming door key, but that's not the case. You should be getting another message afterwards saying that you have attracted the attention of a guard and urging you to hide in a chest. While you are in hiding, the guard will arrive to the mini-room between the two doors and will leave the gate open upon leaving himself. Thus, the door remains open and you can open and close it at will. If these events haven't happened, then I suggest you just restart the game as this could be a bug you've encountered.

The "Screaming Door" key is on the belt of the first guard you ever met. When you leave your cell, he will beat the end of the corridor to the left (first picture).

You have two options to take the key:

-You can sneak in stealth mode until you get close enough to the guard (he will be asleep unless you make too much noise). When you are next to him, you can get the key from his left side (second picture). Be careful not to wake him up!

-You can leave him unconscious throwing a bottle to this head. While he is lying in the floor, you can take the key from him as well (third picture). You have to do it before the countdown (the yellow circle around the Zs) ends!
