huan: I've been trying to pick the deadly mushrooms for Fastus in sewers. But as far as I can tell, there is no way to pick one without the poison bar filling to full, and when it does, it doesn't ever go down. I tried eating my whole food supply and wait it out, but it only delays death. Same with the gasmask on - it only makes the poison drain my health slower, the initial poison bar fills at the same rate. Stick doesn't extend my reach. I'm out of ideas what to try - video walkthroughs make it seem like nonissue, just come close and grab it, but they are obviously for older version (no visible poison bar at all).

There IS one way to get rid of poison, but it feels too meta to be intentional solution: find save spot, save, load and you'll be damaged but fine otherwise.

At this point I think it may even be a bug (game version 4.18), in which case it would be nice to get confirmation from someone who has experience with this quest in earlier versions.

Edit: never mind, I just remembered that Galaxy let's me downgrade. It's only a problem in 4.18, in 3.95 the poison bar goes away as soon as I pick the mushroom, even if I'm already taking damage and not wearing the face mask.
