Hello, GOG forums This is my first forum post, pretty much ever, so please help me out lol. I just purchased Gex, and I use Pop OS 20.04, so after linking my GOG account with Lutris, I tried to play it. While I get to the Launcher (the part where he says "Party Time!"), whenever I click Play, the launcher will close, and that's the end of story. I'm very new to Linux, so I have no clue what to do next.
Thanks in advance,
Tripwire.

This is actually a good thing, as Lutris keeps shortterm logs. Can you go ahead and maybe find the "Show Logs" option on the tabbed arrow next to "Play"?
Hello!
Thanks for responding so quickly, when I saw I was the first one to post on this forum in 2 years, I was worried it would take a while to get a response. When I show logs after attempting to run the game, this is what I get:
"Running /home/tripwire2401/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine/lutris-6.0-x86_64/bin/wine /home/tripwire2401/Games/gog/gex/drive_c/GOG Games/Gex/Loader.exe
Initial process has started with pid 84502
Start monitoring process.
wineserver: using server-side synchronization."
Being honest, I have very little idea what that means lol. I don't see any error messages so I have no clue how to troubleshoot this.
That's looking like normal things.
My guess is that it's trying to invoke an invalid video mode. Try running it in virtual desktop mode and see what may be.

After enabling the virtual desktop setting, these are the logs i got, the game still would close after pressing play on the launcher.
"Running /home/tripwire2401/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine/lutris-6.0-x86_64/bin/wine /home/tripwire2401/Games/gog/gex/drive_c/GOG Games/Gex/Loader.exe
Initial process has started with pid 88700
Start monitoring process.
wineserver: using server-side synchronization.
Monitored process exited.
Initial process has exited (return code: 0)
Sending SIGTERM to PID (pid 88873)
Waiting up to 30sec for processes to exit.
All monitored processes have exited.
Exit with returncode 0"
Huh, weird. It's basically force closing but not reporting an error.
I got it to work by using the system wine version in pop os wine ( 5 .0.3) It may also work under other wine versions just mess around with the Runner options "wine version" you may have to download other version by click on the option box next to wine in the "Runners" list
