In the last weeks I put a lot of effort into replacing missing, zoomed-in covers or covers with stickers. Where is the best place to upload those custom covers for others or the GOG team to use? I'm aware of the database at steamgriddb.com, that is supporting the 342x482 size. Is there any other centralized place to use?
GOG can't just use updated tile covers due to copyright reasons.
I think this needs some official clarification. I'm using original covers found on several sources on the internet, like official dev and publisher websites, presskits, game databases, retailers, gaming & wallpaper sites etc. In some cases i just remove stickers from original covers with Photoshop.

As I understand it from several posts here, the GOG team regularly updates missing or mis-sized library tiles in the database at igdb.com, where the metadata is pulled from.

Maybe try uploading them to igdb yourself and see wether they show up or not ?
Some people share them freely to the community though, say, Google Photos, for example:

EDIT: Just be careful HOW you share those... like to only make THOSE PICS or FOLDERS Public, not your whole collection. :)

Then, we can make the changes ourselves.

To make them official for *all* GOG Galaxy users, I would not recommend, though. (even if you try to change the images in the official used database as suggested.

(At some point, I'm gonna ask @DerBesserwisser to include a section in the FAQ thread to list all those different links to images for GOG covers, etc created by the community. :D )

I think I will stick with steamgriddb.com then and will try to look into directly uploading to igdb.com too. It makes sense for me to upload covers to a centralized place to avoid making a lot of redundant work, if everyone shares their covers in separate places only.
I recognized, that at igdb.com it is requested to upload cover images in a 4:3 (1,33:1) format with 600x800 px, rather than the 342x482 px (1,41:1) from Galaxy 2.0. Although the images get resized to 264x352 px on their respective game pages. It seems, the cover images get cropped by Galaxy 2.0 when pulled from there to fit.
Seems like a good case for something like fanart.tv. Haven't seen steam grid DB, I'll have to check that out. As far as copyright issues... I don't see that happening when it's promotional material or publicly available and you aren't selling it.
Covers A-H online on SteamGridDB:

Feel free to share. A lot of all covers are also uploaded & validated on igdb.com directly in the meantime.
