I'm curious to know what database Galaxy 2.0 is using for game info and box art. I've noticed some of the games in my library have really nice box art that I can't seem to find anywhere on the net (The Witness, GNOG, Black Mesa, etc), some of the games have really naff box art that are badly cropped, squished, or covered in age-ratings and logos (Audiosurf, Bastard Bonds, The Talon Principle, etc), and some games have no box art at all.

(EDIT: And the box art for Kitty Power's Matchmaker is the PS4 version despite being the Steam version.)

Does anyone know which database Galaxy 2.0 is using for this? I'm curious to know for two reasons:

1. I also use Launchbox, and if all else fails it'd be nice to use some of that nice box art in Launchbox.
2. If it's a publicly available database (much like Launchbox's), the community could help fix some of the naff box art and add in the missing ones.

No knowledge, just guesswork - its a gog (or maybe CDProjekt) internal database. Now and then people report problems with Covers, and it is usually fixed by an gog employee in no time

Maybe you could report the games where the box art is "naff" and have an eye, or two, on the most popular publicly available databases ?

Huh, i've never heard of that site before. I don't think this is exactly what Galaxy 2.0 uses though. Some of the entries have the same box art as Galaxy 2.0 (The Talos Principle, Bastard Bonds, Audiosurf, Kitty Powers Matchmaker, Unreal Tournament 2016, and Black Mesa to name a few), while some of the entries have different box art than what Galaxy 2.0 uses (The Witness and GNOG).

It's possible the database Galaxy 2.0 uses might be a combination of multiple databases with their own modifications.
I agree, they must use IGDB somehow.

I tested some days ago, added some posters for the games that did not have one, and they updated in GOG Galaxy some time after that !
Maybe they use their own database as a primary source and a generic one from the Internet (e.g. IGDB) as a secondary source.

Somewhere in between, id imagine they fork IGDB and run their own internal which probably also updates upstream to IGDB if there is anything worthy to contribute
I just got my invite today. I'm now adding my boxed games and quite a few games that are on IGDB can't be found by Galaxy (often expansions) (1) or don't have any box art (the box art is on IGDB, but not on Galaxy) (2).

Examples:
(1) Age of Mythology: The Titans
(2) Aliens Versus Predator: Primal Hunt, Command & Conquer: Generals, Emperor: Battle for Dune

edit: the last 2 (2)s just showed up. Maybe the database is very busy at the moment? Maybe there's just a general issue (bug) with expansions?

Could be using IGDB but also could be RAWG or MobyGames , or maybe GoG eats all those to update their own... maybe they all take from eachother...

It is IGDB confirmed on:
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax: (use old box art than "newer" steam + same Genre)
InMomentum (Full box art)
Only question from were take that strange box art for Far Cry 4 (move?)
