Yeah, thats it, we need Galaxy for linux. I dont want to play on windows for my galaxy achievements
Problem is, Linux has about 3% desktop market share. Even Steam only has about 1.82% of its user base running Linux (and 44% of that is Steam Decks). Valve can afford to keep throwing good money after bad supporting Linux because it's making so much to begin with, but the business case doesn't make an awful lot of sense for anyone else.
they can't be assed to even clean the spammers out and yet you think they will put effort into making it run on one of the dozens of Linux OS

I'm using Ubuntu 23.04 right now, Galaxy 2.0 works really well under WINE using a software called Bottles.
Search it on Flathub... and yes, the achievements works.

Seems like real solution. Good advice. Linux solves problems at least

The power of community, with a little help from Valve... actually.
I've been using Ubuntu for more than a decade: Steam for Linux and ProtonDB have made Linux gaming come a long way.

Cool, im almost tired of reading this excuse (A poor one i must admit) for simply making less work but charge the same Linux is not a 3% of the market. Out there is a lot of people that use it but we dont need an advertisement over our heads. Plus, this could be a great oportunity for gog to reach more people after all we choose to stay here over steam

Amen!

There are unofficial client on Gnu\Linux nowadays that support online game stores, the most promising for me is Heroic Launcher (GOG.com + Epic Game store). The experience is limited anyhow, for example the achievements don't work.

Even not releasing Galaxy for Linux CDProjeckt RED could support these projects financially and technically, then the Linux gamers community would do the rest.

You're right, depending on how willing you are to pad the numbers, it can be as high as 7.2%.

(Full disclosure: I'm writing this on a Linux machine, I just have no illusions over the size of the market share and am being realistic about the commercial realities of supporting it)

I've been using galaxy with WINE. The mouse input is sluggish but it works.
