I want to start by saying that I absolutely love the Galaxy client, but I think GOG can learn a lot from the Epic Games launcher when it comes to visual appeal. I realize that some people might not like the basic layout of the Epic launcher, but I am a huge fan of simplicity, so I was hoping GOG could implement some of their design choices. Don't get me wrong, I think GOG is doing a great job with their client, but I'm sorry to say that Epic does a much better job with the overall design.
I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, so here are my two suggestions.
#1. It would be great if Galaxy had the option to choose from a list of basic colour schemes, such as a light or dark mode. Sometimes I find the colour scheme from Galaxy a bit much and would prefer something more simple (see image titled 'Launcher'). I'm a huge proponent of the concept "less is more" when it comes to visual design.
#2. I love the fact that GOG offers so many choices when it comes to sorting your games, but I really don't like any of the available options. I think most of the problem comes down to the strange circle icons that GOG uses for their games. They feel very outdated. I much prefer Epics rectangular icons as well as their box art (see attached image 'Games List').
That being said, what do other Galaxy users think? Which style would you prefer to see?
* I realize that GOG has way more features than Epic, but I'm strictly talking about esthetic appeal.
