Just as the title says, the pulgin connects, but will state itself ass "offline".

All other plugins are working, just not Steam. I've tried restarting, deleting the Steam plugin folder and letting it redownload. Nothing's worked so far.

Yeah, same thing, Plugin says "offline" no matter steam runnig or not.

Ok I had the same issue last night too and managed to resolve it so try the below:

Exit GOG 2.0 if not already

Go to:

https://github.com/Slashbunny/gog-galaxy-plugin-downloader

and download the latest GOG Plugins Downloader. extract the file and run 'gog-plugins-downloader-stores' which will install all the store plugin inc steam.

Now goto your GOG steam plugins folder found here:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed

If you have 2 steam plugin install like I did make sure you just have the one labelled steam 0.33.2 (I think it was) and not the one with a long line of letters and numbers. If you DO have the one with the long line of number and letter move it out of the directory or delete it.

Then load up galaxy 2.0 and re-connect and hopefully that should now work.

OK, so I got it to work today.

Had to manually update the plugin to the latest version (0.33.3)

You can get the latest version from the github page, https://github.com/FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam, if Galaxy doesn't download it itself. Just overwrite the files in the appdata/local/gog.com/galaxy/plugins/installed/steam folder, then start Galaxy as normal.

My Steam plugin came back online today without any tampering of my own.

How i fixed my issue with Steam plugin being offline:

- Deactivated Steam integration in GOG Galaxy 2 client
- Closed GOG Galaxy 2 program
- Opened up Steam app, went to "Settings -> Account -> Manage Steam Guard Account Security .."
- Clicked "Deauthorize all other devices" button
- Opened up GOG Galaxy 2 client and activated Steam integration again

However, quite annoying is that now all 2k+ Steam games are imported on the same day.
Probably lost all tags again :(

Can you tell us in like 2 weeks if it stays stable like this? I tried other fixes so far as well and usually my steam plugin went into old patterns after 1-2 weeks again so i'm currently at a stage where i don't bother fixing it anymore for the timebeing. So ya would be great to hear if this fix creates a stable solution.
Regarding Steam - do you use a single profile on your computer or several ones (just regarding logging into Steam not regarding logging in into Galaxy). I have the feeling using more than 1 steam profile even if in steam only leads to problems regarding the plugin

Strange thing. Steam plugin works perfect on one of my computer (win10 laptop), but refuses to work on another (win 7 desktop). Versions of Galaxy and plugin are exactly the same on both computers. I've tried to copy plugin flolder from one pc to another, tried to reinstall galaxy on win7 pc. Nothing works. Maybe plugin devs don't support win 7 anymore ?

Yeah, I have this issue too. I'm gonna wait a little while before trying any of these solutions because I really don't want to have to go to all of that trouble only for it to deactivate after a little while.

I love GOG and I love Galaxy 2.0 but man, they really need to get on these integrations issues.
I'm running on 7 and most of the issues I've had with Galaxy 2.0 have either been obvious bugs or issues on my end related to all the security software I run to keep 7 alive as long as I can keep it. I refuse to willingly upgrade to Windows 10, Micro$oft can kiss my backside.

More simple instructions:
If you have GOG 2.0 Galaxy Steam offline problem, just go to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\GOG.com\plugins\installed\steam folder and search file named protobuf_client.py and open it with a WordPad, find socket.gethostname() and change it with 'localhost' with the quotes.

There is a protocol sub-folder with protobuf_client.py file in it. socket.gethostname() is in the file twice both must be replaced with 'localhost'.
