I've seen this particular issue posted several times before but none of the posted solutions seems to be working for me. I really like the way GOG Galaxy 2.0 looks and feels but it doesn't do me a lot of good if the Steam plugin keeps crashing since most of my games are located there. I've tried re-installing the plugin a number of times along with re-installing Galaxy itself. None of the other plugins have this issue as they just sit connected. I don't see a way of manually installing the latest plugin although I'm presuming that it is auto installing the latest plugin from github. Is there something else I should try? I'm stumped on this one.
I was about to come here and post the same exact thing, but I think I might have finally fixed this issue after trying every thing else. Here is what I did:
1) Close GOG Galaxy (close it from the task task manager to make sure it's closed)
2) Open 'C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\plugins' or wherever you've got GOG installed and delete everything here.
3) Open `C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed` or wherever your appdata is. Delete everything here as well.
4) Restart Galaxy and wait for it to redownload the plugins.

I did this a couple of hours ago, and no plugin crashes since then, where it would normally crash a minute after restarting. Hope this helps.
Wow, thank you very much. I had similar problem with Steam and Uplay plugins (Galaxy didn't show any games I own on those platforms). Your solution worked like a charm. :)
Don' Work here for me !

I have the same chosen here, I have tried several chosen like uninstall steam + game, uninstall Gog, two chose that I hadn't done for years telling me it would come from there. Tested the various solutions found by removing the Steam 'Plugin' from AppData, then taking it into account on its Steam account at Galaxy.
But nothing helps, it's still as broken.

It has been going on for several weeks, thinking that an Update will go out, but nothing helps.
Crash all time, constantly !

Didn't work for me and i also lost all of my custom cover for my games... I'm almost giving up on GoG because of this trash, some games from months ago can't even track hours because every time i open GoG the Steam plugin is already crashing!!
Gog 2.0 is a mess. Not even 1 week can i enjoy having my games in 1 place, always something that ruins it. Buggy as hell.
Same issue here

But it's currently unfixed: https://github.com/FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam/issues/64

Wait & see..
I have the exact same issue on two different PC's. Everyday there are multiple errors of the Steam pluggin not working, but every time I try to fix it I keep getting a Connecting message and an ever lasting looping circle animation.

Didn't work for me. Just keeps crashing. Pity that 2.0 update just broke GOG Galaxy, i was using regularly. I guess I'm gonna uninstall and wait for a better version that works.
Interestingly enough i today got an galaxy update prompt which then seems to have fixed the current issues. Plugin seems to be stable for me again for the timebeing
Steam plugin still crashing for me.
Any update/news on when it’ll be fixed?
