Since a lot of people already want linux support this would be a great opportunity.I also would like to play my gog games on the handheld so please at least consider it in the future.If microsoft gets worse more and more people will jump on the linux bandwagon anyway.Greetings
Plus, a GOG client specifically for Steam OS could use Steam's Proton to run Windows games... Anyhow, Valve already states that Steam on the Deck will also support adding non-Steam games, which means that a GOG client for the Steam Deck would make a lot of sense. All it has to do is manage the downloads, then have the games added to the Steam client on the device. Adding some sort of compatibility setting, some tweaking, and a list of compatible games would make sense though...
