Hello,

I tried to move a game ("Solasta - Crown of the Magister") to another hard drive, but with no success.

First I checked if there is an otpion inside GOG Galaxy to move a game to another location, which seems not to be the case.

Then, I deinstalled the game, and re-installed it to the desired location. The game downloaded, but the installation failed with error E01. Re-installing in the original location worked.

Next I tried to stop GOG Galaxy, then move the game files manually, the start GOG Galaxy again and initiated the installation in the same folder. It seems it reckognized the already existing game files because no download was started, but the installation failed with the same error.

Then I tried to contact GOG support, but it only allowed me to talk to a useles bot.

Now I'm hoping for help from the community - can anyone tell me how to move games to differnt locations?
Hello,

1. Exit GOG Galaxy.
2. Make sure your antivirus isn't interfering. In particular, double-check that game files haven't been moved to quarantine.
3. Restart GOG Galaxy and click the "More" button to the right of the Play button. From there, choose Manage Installation, then Verify/Repair.

To open a support ticket via chatbot, basically say your issue type is "other" twice. See either my complaint post or staff directions for the exact wording.
Alternatively, you can try e-mailing support (at) gog (dot) com
You can just move the game to the desired folder, how you already did, just don't start a new installation, but use the "Add games & friends" button instead: you can find it in the cogwheel or at the top of the Recent and Discover pages; now you can select "Scan folders for GOG Games" and point out where the game is installed.

Thanks for your support. But the scan results in "No games found", unfortunately. I tried to select the gamefolder itself as well as the parent folder.
Sadly this 'workaround' doesn't work with all games....often I loose a game this way and have to reinstall it.
No fun with my 16Mbit DSL connection :(
Today it hit 'Battlestar Galacatica - Deadlock' hmpf
To reinstall games with 5GBs or more realy sucks...Galaxy should slowly be able to handle such matter.
/edit: And now I 'lost' Steel Division 2' -.-
And yes, that is annoying
/edit: funfact is, the game starts when I run the exe manualy from the folder :D
