So I own Gothic 3 on GOG, but I also have a retail copy. The retail copy is already installed, the GOG one is not. I would like to add the retail copy to the Galaxy 2.0 beta, but when I try to point it to the installation folder Galaxy tries to "update" the installed game. I don't want that because I already patched/modded the retail copy.

Games owned on other platforms don't have this problem because Galaxy recognises the other platform and lets you switch between different copies.

So in short: has anyone found a way to add a retail copy of a game also owned on GOG?

I have the same problem, but then with a steam game.

I have 'The Bridge' drm free (from humble bundle), but I have it also on steam. It won't let me add this game to my library.

There are multiple edtions of Gothic 3, while it may not be accurated, but you could add your retail copy as a "version" of Gothic 3 you don't own on GOG, like an Enhanced edition or stuff like that.

It's not a fix, but a workaround, I know

I hadn't thought of that, thanks. I guess until/unless GOG adds retail as a separate "platform" that's the best we can do.
