One of the reasons I really like buying stuff through GOG is the availability of Linux games. but the galaxy 2.0 release has really hampered that. not only does it not support Linux, but it doesn't install or work properly under wine, so now there's no way to even use galaxy to install windows-only games and keep them updated.

is there any chance of actual linux support, or at least fixing galaxy so it works under wine? or is linux pretty much just an afterthought at gog?
+1 yes, please, if a native linux implementation is too much of a hassle, then it could work at least on wine...
That's what is really missing, some love for the GNU/Linux world.
If GOG.com would make a decent version for Linux that would be the icing on the cake.

I'm using Win7 atm, but Linux support for a simple client should be frankly a must.
Maybe the devs could postpone the more complex overlay part, but the basic functionality can't be that difficult to port, come on..
I kind of enjoy not using a client. I'm not into multiplayer so there's not much reason to play online. (Maybe if there were more multiplayer puzzle games...)

You should just buy all your games through steam until they change this situation. You have DRM on steam, but steam backs linux, and their contributions make running games on linux much easier. GOG don't deserve any of your money.
It is really sad to see that in 2020 they do not even care to make galaxy being compatible via wine.

I'd like to see Galaxy for Linux coming to and I refuse to use WINE.

Not that I make illusions but it doesn't cost much to ask...
