I installed yesterday and a lot of my games are working great.

I am having a problem with my copy of Assassin's Creed Origins, which I purchased in Steam years ago but now play in Uplay.

Galaxy lists it as a Uplay game, but when I hit play it tries to launch it in Steam, bringing up the install options.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Thanks
I didn't even know until now you could buy a game on Steam and launch it through a platform such as Uplay. Nice! :)

It sounds like an issue with the integrations part of the program. Have you tried: disconnecting and reconnecting the integrations through Settings, but changing the order you do that for both Uplay and Steam? Does it make a difference?

Other than that, no clue! Worth submitting it as an issue, as I don't think it's an known issue...?
I have always known of Ubisoft selling their games through Steam, and still requiring you to launch it through Steam and then uPlay.

You're able to launch them from uPlay directly without even having Steam installed? I am not sure if you have full access to the game through uPlay, so it could be just that.

In my case, games bought directly from uPlay, including all of the AC games, launch just fine from GOG and they do not open Steam at all. So it does look like it is related to this particular situation.
I have a few games on uplay that I got through steam and they always wanted to be updated and played via steam but with uplay running. Just using uplay on its own wasn't possible which is partly why I started getting ubi games from off steam sources such as GMG or ubi's own store that lets you double dip on discounts with their loyalty points system.

Anno2070 shows in my uplay list but wants to be installed via steam and I had to get the steam based expansions for it. I also have two copies of blood dragon, one from steam and another that was a freebie which I didn't need but snagged to avoid the launcher faff.

There are a few niggles and gripes with going just uplay, the main one being that patching tends to take a lot longer because they don't do the smaller iterative patches that steam uses but instead do a patch for an older version. So for example wildlands patches would sometimes be nearly double the size to those on steam. But the ability to shop around a bit more used to make up for it (epic seems to have knobbled that side though)

I'm afraid there's no way to fix that to you then... from my experience and other posters... a ubisoft game bought on steam still has to launch it through Steam (even if then uPlay is required... or vice-versa). The issue I see, if there's one, is more like a mismatch between how Galaxy classifies the game (as uPlay in this case) and how it launches it (Steam, as it should). You could submit a 'report issue' so they can be aware of that fact if you want.
