I got the launcher for the sole purpose of downloading games. My internet is often slow and unstable, so having something similar to how Steam downloads games or just torrenting a file is of great value. Downloading via Chrome is not feasible for anything larger than a gigabyte, and it claims to auto restart downloads but that either actually requires user input or it starts the download from scratch. So, when I first got the launcher a couple of months ago, it worked ok. It would download games and i could continually check the progress. However, for a little while now, it's been completely useless in that regard. Downloads will often just get "stuck" for hours on end. They frequently just stop at 4% but they can really just stop anywhere. Is this a problem with a solution or this platform just not viable for me?

I'm currently trying to install the quake remaster and it simply doesn't want to work.

q1 ; what operating system i.e, W7 -W11, Mac etc?
q2 - is 'the launcher' Galaxy 2.0.68.112 beta.?
q3 - when you say internet is slow, are we talking 1mb download, more or less?

downloads getting stuck is always the network but what turns off the network could be your system shutting down Usb drives to save power or Microsoft / Gog helpfully grabbing updates without bugging you about asking permission... i've even had people running Discord streaming in the background and not understanding thats why the patch stopped

It seems like a launcher specific issue cause everything else runs normally. Like, the launcher can be stuck at whatever but I try to download a game off steam and the download proceeds as normal at the expected speed. or one of my torrents shows the normal download speed.

also is there another game you can download with Galaxy just to say its not only that 1 which isn't working?

I have the same issue. I was trying to download baldurs gate 3, but the dl just randomly stopped, so yeah, I can't access something that I paid for.
