'GOG Galaxy Changelog 2.0.53 Beta (August 25, 2022)
New features:
Scheduling game updates for installed games you’re not actively playing'

Has there ever been anyone asking for this so called 'feature'? One of the most frustrating aspects of Steam & Ubisoft Connect for me is when I want to launch a game - and instead have to wait half an hour for the latest update to load and install. There is a feature suggestion on the GOG forum to use Galaxy to *start* available updates, not hold them up.

So please let me know if and how it is possible to get updates, when they become available. If it's a thing about traffic costs - feel free to implement an update distribution via torrent or similar mechanisms - even Microsoft does well with this. Just please don't force me to manually trigger everything every few days for *another* launcher.

The new updater lets you download when you want. They show up and let you do it when you want to. I think Cyberpunk is the only one that didn't. This update happened about a week ago.
1. Click the cogwheel in the top right, then choose Settings.
2. In the Settings window, click Installing, updating on the left.
3. Check Limit bandwidth if it's not already enabled.
4. Uncheck Schedule which is otherwise checked but grayed out.
5. Uncheck Limit bandwidth if you don't want it on.

I had already everything unchecked in the config but I don't see them starting automatically.

Anyway at least the updates appears listed in the download section (that is also highlighted when new things are added), so I only have to click on them.

Umh, it's already switched off, new updates anyway get paused into the queue so I have to run them manually. I'm gonna give it a try to check schedule on and off...

Did not help. And since I played 'Dorfromantik' quite often, which was not too long ago, it turns out that this new 'feature' only causes that I now have a third launcher besides Steam and Ubisoft Connect, where I have to manually trigger all updates every few days.

Disappointing.

Wow, seems like I completely missed that in the Changelog.
That's probably an Explanation for the Ticket I have open with the Galaxy Support, because my games do not update anymore.

Dear GOG-Staff, who in their right mind thought that was a "feature" for Galaxy?
And without any way to configure it, to add insult to injury.
Yes, I know that Ubisoft also has that, and I hate them for it.

But what was the difference between GOG and other Stores again?

Right: DRM free.
That means that we can buy, download and install all Games you offer without any DRM-Mechanism like the use of an aditional software.
Those are the offline installer and they where there before the first Galaxy.

So what was it again, why Galaxy was created?
I know it got some shiny - nice to have - features, that I also do not want to miss anymore, but what was the core function, that the offline Installer did not provide and the Customers really wanted?

"Auto-Updates
Keep your GOG.COM games always up to date."

That is not from me, it comes from your own Website.
So how is crippeling the core funcionallity beyond being usefull of any benefit for your Customers?

You are showing us, that you do not care about the fundamental funcionally of your own software.
Please think about that, again.

Well... I can "rollback" Games... does anyone know how I rollback Galaxy?
