I have tried several times but the install sticks at 77% consistently.

Lots of people seem to have trouble downloading and installing games through Galaxy lately...
Until GOG fixes this I'd recommend to simply use the offline installers. Galaxy should see the game after it was installed, if not, you can manually "import" it.
