PSA really.

The latest iteration of GOG Galaxy causes my Windows 7 box to lock up during gameplay. If you're going to be a curmudgeon like myself then I recommend using the 1.2.67 client.

Note: According to the official support page, 2.0 is not supported with Win 7.
