GOG Galaxy has recently been getting buggier and buggier. It can't even update itself nowadays. I have to do that manually, over and over again, for me anyway. It's really wasting my time. What's happening?

What the freak is happening?

The autoupdate problem was fixed in 2.0.60. I ran the full installer manually for that version and the following autoupdate worked fine for me (and others).

Launch the full 2.0.61.63 installer while GOG Galaxy isn't running. If you encounter any problems, perform a clean install instead.

Thanks for the reply. I've manually installed the latest version, and it's a wait and see. Hopefully no more irritating spinning-cogs!

Agreed. The most current update at least finished without the 'can't update' error shenanigans.

My current issue with GOG is still high CPU utilization. It seems like it's a CPU vampire. I rarely load it anymore unless I need it for something.

(Edit : Actually, the CPU usage seems a little better now after the latest update? I'm cautiously optimistic?)

It's the second-to-latest update that might've improved CPU usage. I can't compare because I haven't downloaded any games in a while. I've only ever had high CPU usage when downloading (before even installing).

The wait-and-see is over. Good news, Galaxy is now updating itself, rather than me having to do that tedious process for it!:)
