i submited a ticket to GOG suport and they got back to me with a solution, and it worked for me

go to GOG .exe go to properties compatiblity tab, disable compatibility mode and uncheck runt as administrator
I've had the client crash on me. or I've closed it and then tried re-opening and it won't.
I've discovered that if I open the task manager there's a few processes left behind:
GalaxyClient Helper Application - usually a couple of these
GoG Galaxy (32 bit)

If I right-click those and end task and then try open again, it usually works.

Not sure if you have the same problem but worth a shot.
