What happened to gog galaxy 2.0 development? :C

the changelog looks rather poor for the last months (can I say 'years' already?). it started so strong combining Playnite functionality with good UX, but... that's it? promised features already take ages to develop, just a few official integrations that work with the bare minimum, non-existing social features, no roadmap or clear communication. and I know it's beta but... that's exactly why I would expect frequent updates. if we get only one small update in few months in beta, what would happen after release?

so management decided that there is no point in pumping money into the application that can support other stores? are we still supposed to wait for more/improved functionalities or is it considered a dead-end project? don't get me wrong tho, I'm not ranting anyone/anything - it's just making me sad, seeing application with such great potential and people behind it (love you cdp staff!) go to waste. the promise that there will be a decent app to manage my library actually convinced me to diverse my library between stores other than steam (bought games on gog and epic), but now I feel like I'm abandoned with it.

so... yeah. it's kinda 'hope you will do better' letter, filled with both hope and disappointment at same time. I'm really looking forward to seeing GoG Galaxy 2.0 growing bigger and better.

You'd also expect it not to be forced on users who have opted out of beta testing, but look where we are on that...

Also, support have been refusing to answer me since last year when I asked a similar question they apparently have no answer for. And by "refuse" I mean it. I've reached out multiple times and only gotten automated replies confirming the message was received, and been told my GOG Twitter that they'll make sure I get a reply then heard nothing back, and been told by a forum moderator that they already answered all my questions when they objectively didn't.
Galaxy is a sub client designed to sell add space and the 'push' to get it into wide spread use just before the release of a certain flagship game that also just happens to have its own special add space set aside in Galaxy is probably why no one is working on adding options clients actually want or fixing bugs i.e, that flagship game landed with something of a dull thud
how they possibly can manage galaxy if they can't manage their own gog site and forums in particular. my forum posts notification is always lit and it does not store anything in the list even if I had replies in selected thread. It goes like that for months.
I have a feeling gog has more issues that just galaxy, maybe understaffed and struggles to operate under heavy load because CDPR needs every extra hand in fixing the disaster they call Cyberpunk 2077 and there's still tons of refunds/user feedback from CP2077 owners.

I'm especially disappointed that they killed the old client for this thing they've now all but dropped. I'm glad the old version still runs but man is it sad. No updates, no roadmap, no communication and we're left hanging in beta for what now, two years? :(

The beta was only pushed "live" (forced on users instead of remaining opt-in like it still should be in its current state) around this time last year, or a ltitle earlier.

It was well into covid already being a known factor, and support timeframes were already up to an estimate of around 4 weeks (not even an assurance of "less than") before they forced it live without being ready. That in itself is a huge problem on top of the actual problems with the new client being bad enough that I'd be tempted to argue it's not even beta-ready.

have you watched CDPR's recent video where they report to investors about financial success of 2020 and outline their plans for future? it's on their youtube channel, in Polish language (but I believe it has subs, i listened to Polish version).
The guy who shared their financial stats also said at the end of the video about gog and how important it is for CDPR as storefront (it finally made a profit). These guys just can't stop lying :)

True, but I got my invite in August 2019 and I remember trying it out and deciding to wait until it's improved somewhat, which I'm still in the process of doing...
I have uninstalled it. Galaxy has become a worse piece of software with time, it is unable to update games anymore, and keep asking the Admin password all the time. Using the web client and manual install is a bit better, and has a very good retro feeling.
I just came here to say this. I've had GOG2 since beta and after a handful of months of updates it very quickly seemed to go into maintenance mode with virtually nothing new happening, certainly nothing of substance.

There's still many large but basic features that need to be added (Editing tags and managing them better for example). Not to mention larger features.

Stability wise it's been mostly rock solid from the very start.

I suppose if it's not making money this happens, but they should at least open it up more.. It SOO much promise.
