Just got these warnings about GOG Galaxy 2.0+ on my PC from Malwarebytes

Malware.AI.4279325884

HKLM\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\GalaxyCommunication
C:\PROGRAMDATA\GOG.COM\GALAXY\REDISTS\GALAXYCOMMUNICATION.EXE

I'm guessing this is a false postive?

I am seeing this as well on my desktop. I would wager that this is a false positive. I had already installed the latest Galaxy Client update the last time I had run a scan with Malwarebytes a week ago. (I do weekly scans with the software.)

For full clarification, I generally am only on this PC on weekends and it remains in a powered off state during the week. I had just updated all of my software and was running my monthly maintenance routine on the PC when Malwarebytes detected it an hour or so ago.

Maybe an update to Malwarebytes causing it to register it as a false positive?

I'm another with this, wonder if there is some change in the way Galaxy works that Malwarebytes has picked up. Will leave as a false positive for now.
Having the same issue (exactly the same detection signatures) - both GOG and Malwarebytes are the newest versions. For now Malwarebytes successfully blocks GOG from starting up (Galaxy gives message about some crucial application component not working/missing).
I got the same detection flags for the same registry key and the same file this morning. Considering these detections were performed by artificial intelligence, and considering GOG's reputation, I feel pretty confident that these are false positives.
