Would love to also see someone adjust the existing origin plugin to work with EA App.

I have now given up on GOG Galaxy and shifted to Playnite.

I'm playing Dragon Age Inquisition for the first time currently after they did a free upgrade of the base game I got years ago in a giveaway to a GOTY edition that has all the DLC, and I've been pleasantly surprised to see that Galaxy is suddenly tracking my EA App achievements for this game. It is the only game in my Origin/EA App library for which Galaxy is showing even the existence of achievements much less my progress in them. But I'm happy to see this for sure in the game I'm actually currently playing through.

DAi is not on Gog and needs the EA app to run

if your badges/achievements are being tracked in Galaxy that will be because you still have your Origin plugin still on

It's still called 'Origin' in Galaxy, but it's not Origin; it's the EA App that is actually the place that galaxy is loading my games list from and tracking these DAI achievements. I know this because there are still games that don't show up in the EA App that did show up in Origin that Galaxy is showing consistent with the EA App, no Origin.

the EA app is just an app, yes it still connects [when it works] to the old origin server and the server is what stores your profile so having to old origin pugin for Galaxy will keep the badges etc updating yes

old games sold thou Origin included games that where manually regez as well as the newer only-online stuff you can get currently... yes some of those games don't carry across, yes that means you can't play games you own without stepping outside normal use and hacking / pirating copies and yes that is illegal

EA is well aware they don't follow the rules but they are also so big that they don't really give a shit and thats the current state of play we find our selves in as gamers i.e, bend over and take it or go elsewhere but this is Gog here [not EA] so thats all beside the point

This no longer works. I did exactly what the instructions are telling me too, and it still keeps on saying I have to "upgrade" to EA App.

it keeps on over writing the edited local.xml file, putting it as read only doesn't do anything Origin just replaces it with a new one.
