oh look at that, so many of us...

yeah I have the same issue, complete with "wouldn't upgrade automatically" and "manual upgrade did not fix the service crashing 10000 times"

hope it gets fixed x_X
Same issue. i've just closed galaxy down unless i'm actually playing a gog game. sent a bug report but it doesn't seem to have done a lot of good. hope they fix it but before that i hope they acknowledge there is something to fix.
Well, 2.0.58 runs stable on my machine.
I installed the upgrade manually.

Maybe it would be in place to get some sytem specs to find the pattern what's causing it to crash on some machines.

Did you also check your PC's 'reliability history'? No recent Galaxy crashes like the rest of us?
You can find it by searching 'reliability' in the search via the taskbar.

Ah, now I got some. The service did crash about an hour ago. Well, I seem to be part of the club then.

It happened about 5 hours after I started the client. Maybe that's why I never saw it before.

Edit:
for PocoNet.dll Dependency Walker shows that a couple of VC dlls have missing dependencies, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.

This is what Galaxy's log says to that (ignore the numbers, they change anyway on every startup).

Interesting is that after restarting the service first there is a timeout and Galaxy tries to start the service again. There is no error entry in the windows event log for that however, so maybe they just have too short timeouts.

So a connection loss crashes the service ... nicely done, GOG programmers :). But at least it's restarted shortly after.

Either that or it's not getting through on Gog end. The timeout is simple it would make sense.
Definitely not an "anti virus" problem. Looks like a connection/firewall problem. Seems to be with people who have a fair decent amount of games.

Specific to Poco, I'm seeing in the logs

Looks like they are calling Poco::ByteOrder::fromNetwork ... and since the request failed, they are probably passing null or some invalid memory reference to the function which causes it to go haywire.

Since I can bring up these URLs in a web browser just fine I'm guessing they have some rate limiting on their firewall which is denying access.

This may be why some of my games REFUSE to update through Gog Galaxy. I have to download the update and manually run it.

Not sure about that. I have over 2000 games and it only happened after 4 hours.
But in any case, even if the connection is reset or crashes for whatever reason, the service does not seem to handle that very well, to say the least.

Let's just be glad it's nothing critical, it might explain however, why some people don't see their latest achievements on the homepage. Somewhere in the log I found an enty about the same process ID being used to synchronize those.
I'm having issues with GalaxyClientService.exe crashing as well, over and over - I'm an IT sys admin, why is this software so buggy - guys please stop pushing untested releases.

4 pages of people having issues, a week later and same issues.

And people wonder why the steam version is always better to have...

Same problem here. One in three game launches crashes the client. Happened before the latest update and still going on. The client is also really slow to start on a 16/32 core machine with 128 GB of memory. Even the buggy new EA App works better than this.

Does the client crash (GUI?) or just the service, as mentioned in the posts above?

I never ever saw the GUI crash.

If it's realyl the UI that crashes, it would be nice to see the Windows event log entry to see what component caused it.
That obviously does not happen on every PC, so they might not have fixed it because it does not happen on theirs and they don't even know how make it happen in the first place. One can only fix the errors he can reproduce.

They both crash. GUI crashes with buffer overflow exception (BEX) and it seems to happen in ucrtbase.dll

Are you on Windows 10 or 11? I'm on Win11. The DLL in question is not part of the Galaxy Client.

Windows 11

Try to install the C++ pack proviced by Microsoft (32 Bit, Galaxy is a 32 Bit application). The Universal C runtime error could be caused by a missing C++ version.

I have the latest. It would not work at all if it were missing. The crash happens randomly. Not every time when a game is launched.
Same issue here, if I press on setings, check for updates i can trigger the error.

below you see the eventviewer logging: @GOG please try your best to fix this issue, currently i'm not using GOG galaxy because it's too buggy and caused several flatlines in cyberpunk.
