Why is my speed being slowed to the servers? I have a gigabit connection and its only connecting at up to 50MB/sec. I should be getting close to 100MB/sec. I have tried using a vpn to get around the geo blocking. Which is what I think is happening. Is there a port or ports I need to open to get better speeds?

I am sick of companies limiting my connection to their servers. I am paying for fast internet I want to be connected at that speed. Not half or less ffs!!!
Don't think so.

I partly agree, but at the same time.
They propably do this so that one person don't hog their connection.
Many services don't allow Gigabit speeds. Heck, some even lock it to max 100Mbit/s, or lower.

Also, is it so bad if it takes longer than five seconds to download a game?

Its not just one person. I bet there are many people worldwide that have gigabit connections. What is the point of having a fast connection if the speed is capped because of "hogging" the connection? If their bandwidth is that low they have more serious problems.

It took more than five seconds. Took almost half an hour. If it was allowing me to connect at a 100MB/sec it would have been done much faster.

I think they are capping the speed I'm connecting at. Because on Steam I get near the max. Sometimes even exceed it. So its clearly something they're doing on their end.
