I'm on Windows 11 64-bit Home Edition.
GOG Galaxy says there's an update. I click to update now. It fails. Says to go to website. I doubleclick the exe, immediate "this executable couldn't be ran".
Since GOG Galaxy is a January version I try uninstalling it: perhaps having it installed messes with it. But nope. The Windows installer still fails to run.
If I download a game installer tthrough the browser to install it without Galaxy, it does the same!
I can't install GOG, I can't install new games.
I get this error, see attached image.
PS - Running an sfc /scannow
... It found some errors and repaired them. Restarting. I had done this the first time I got but sfc said all well.
Still same thing.
A new run of sfc finds no problems. A checkhealth with DISM finds no problems.
PS - Final. Oh, I had downloaded the installer that need Galaxy in for the game I tried, I saw there's offline installer for games, those work.
