Also, I liked the original Evil Dead. It gave me a few jumps well over the age for such nonsense. ;-D

Also, question:

Does anyone know an older zombie movie (1970's or early 1980's) where a group of teens go out to an isolated island where there happens to be a graveyard and of course an old cemetery caretaker? They find a small house in the woods to have a fun time, but one of the guys decides to dig up a corpse and perform an ancient resurrection spell which doesn't work right away, but actually does bring back not only the cadaver, but also the rest of the island's "slumbering population".

I saw it a long time ago on TV, but still remember vividly the sicko dancing with the corpse and a scene alluding to perhaps some rather darker happenings between the two behind closed doors.

Tool recommendation: A good (fast = lightweight, 1,5kg absolute maximum) German longsword. Keeping them at a safe distance while decapitating them and way more durable than any asian sword.

Movie recommendation: "The Revenant" (a zombie flic from the other perspective)

For a "warmer" zombie film, Warm Bodies. Romeo & Juliet for the zombie age.
Also features the best example of an actor shooting himself in the foot.
Nicholas Hoult, who plays the zombie protagonist, goes up to the director and says, "I think it might look good if I don't blink. Zombies are dead, so they don't need to blink to moisturize the eyeballs! What do you think?"
The director looks at him, and then says, "Yeah, sure. Run with it."
Now the only thing Hoult can think about whilst acting is, "My eyes! My eyes! The buuuuuurning!"
An axe! Viking style. Those things were useful for combat or building. I feel like it is both a weapon and a tool, useful when you don't know what is going to happen next!

I haven't watched too many Zombie movies, so I can't share one offhand.
Well if I had unlimited ammo.... My 12 gauge that I've customized (deadly accurate with rifled slugs), but dragon's breath would be fun as hell. Not counting other specialty ammo you can get for it, otherwise it would be a death sentence with the noise. If not..... Just my knife. I can always make spears, traps, and countless other things, just need cutting tool. Good knife is tops for ANY survival. But it would be a last resort weapon for me during a zombie outbreak.

I think the question would be how many of us are actually preparing for the Zombie uprising? +1 here.

Not in for me, but for the person who posts just after mine, I already have the game, but +1 for the give away though.

As for a Zombie movie to recommend...... Can't really recommend any recent zombie movies, I'm stuck with The Walking Dead TV series still which I love. A crazy one I did like and am still waiting for the second one though..

I'm in. Thanks for the giveaway undeadcow (+1).

1. Purell. It also makes for a great Molotov cocktail.

2. Night of the Living Dead
Day of the Dead
Re-Animator
[Rec]
Slither
The Serpent and the Rainbow

I don't particularly like the film but I'm quite fond of this trailer (presented in glorious VHS quality):
'Peter Jackson's Braindead / Dead Alive - Sheep Trailer'

I think I'd go with a full set of Motocross style riding gear. The helmet, chest plate, boots, ect, are all pretty light weight, breathable and should be fairly bite proof. This way it doesn't matter what type of weapon I can find. I could even just start punching and kicking the zombies because I'm relativley safe. Add some spikes or wrap key areas in razor wire and I become a zombie killing machine. Plus when I get tired, and I will, I can just lay down and go to sleep without having to worry about being in a zombie proof location.

For zombie movies I'll second The Horde, or Le Horde in the original French. There is one particular scene where a female police officer fights a zombie in a kitchen. It is one of the best fight scenes I heve ever seen on film. It looks very visceral and real, not scripted or choreographed in any way.

Well if we are talking about unlimited ammo I'd say a UTAS-15. I would put slugs in one tube and shot in the other so thatI can pick which I want at any given moment. I know the gun had some issues when it was first introduced but I understand that the 3rd generation models are rock solid. About the only downside is that zombies are not affected by the weapons intimidating look,
I'm in. And I'll bring a hand-cranked motion detector -- we are dealing with the FAST kind of zombies after all.

chadjenofsky: Technically a zombie movie, I really enjoyed Shaun of the Dead. A great parody and well thought out.
The BEST zombie movie to watch (IMHO) -- I'm a big fan of comedies.
I'm in.

I'd go with a suit of combat armor since any scratch can spread the infection, covering up is essential.

I'll recommend Shaun of the Dead. Sometimes one needs to make light of the situation.
I'll be in for RWarehall :)

All the zombie movies I like have been listed already LOL
Zombieland is my favorite
28 days later and 28 weeks later are a close second

Getcomposted: ...Question though, if the world were overrun by zombies, which zombiefied "celebrity" would you want to put out of its misery most?
I think it'd be fun to off zombiefied Arnold Schwarzenegger...
Ending Zafehouse Diaries (GOG) giveaway in about 24 hours.
In for grimwerk if allowed and thanks for the giveaway.

I want a chainsaw. Big one. If I ever run out fuel I can still smash their skulls with it.
I'm in. Thank you!

I want to carry a pair of Japanese swords and go nitoryu on the zombies.

For the movie, I recommend Lifeforce.
Thank you! In & +1! :D

I would carry a gun to suicide when things get pointless :P (LOL,now that's optimism! :P)
