I can't view it at work, however.

I must admit, while there's no logic to this and it's fanboyism, I'm kind of irritated that Yahtzee apparently decided not to review this until it appeared on Steam. Was GOG mentioned at all? :-/

I really wouldn't let it bother you because honestly I don't even consider Yahtzee a reviewer and not just because he's hard on shit either just alot of his arguments are just stupid plus his stuff is style over substance. I also don't get why lot of people take his shit as gospel simply because he's negative..negativity doesn't always = the truth

Not even in passing, but it's been pointed out in the forums if its any consolation.
His review is crap anyway. Oh no, the game doesn't pause while I'm fiddling with my inventory! Well duh, it was like that intentionally so you'd always be on edge. Oh no, the controls are horrible and have a gazillion keys! Erm, you can bind them any way you want and there really aren't that many keys.
Yahtzee isn't even a reviewer, he's just an entertainer.
Yahtzee sure is a reviewer. His style is truly unique. If you really listen closely to his talk, you'll notice that he points out diffrent faults of the game without saying they're shitty. He just mentions them, giving one or to even a positive note (e.g. the no pause in menue). Though his reviews tend to be negative I think this one is rather positiv. Still it is totally ok to say for modern standards this game sucks, because that is right. Rating a game will always struggle in that regard. Fans protecting it, no matter what and haters hating without even playing it. I would appreciate if you would just recognize his review without bursting into a shitstorm or even denying his worth as a reviewer, just because he tested system shock from a modern point of view (which still is totaly ok, because it costs money and got released just a few days ago and we're not in the 90s anymore).

Yahtzee is still around? lol.

Why do people still watch Yahtzee? He's a "reviewer" who desperately tries to be "professional" but he always was shit
I don't like Yahtzee as a reviewer because I find that he obsesses over trivial details, spends half his reviews obsessing over apparently game-breaking problems that I don't even notice, and generally misses the forest for the trees; a conclusion I came to long before this particular review was posted.

(In fact, I haven't listened to his SS2 review--given his vocabulary, it might be a little embarrassing on a public computer in a hotel lobby.)

Yeah that helps, lol. Arrgggg, my GOG fanboyism - I tweeted him about the thing, too. Still pretty disappointed as I don't think he would have missed the huge re-release info months ago.

I really feel like I'm the only person without happy memories of SS2. For me I really liked certain parts but most the game was really boring and all the challenge came from Newbie traps. Oh the Fusion looks cool doesn't it and you work through the hole game to max heavy weapon and then you find out it sucks and the ammo is Rare and worst of all, the Assault Rifle is more powerful and versatile and uses common Ammo. I just was really left unengaged most the time, I did like the mall section for the creepiness. It felt like a shitty FPS got mashed into a Shitty RPG and everyone says it tastes great bu6t I can only taste the shit.
Stop posting.

Just kidding.

This review wasn't that bad. It seems like he liked the game, but was just turned off by the complicated user interface. Am I the only one who actually likes the soundtrack? And not just independent of the game.

I just watched it (I had forgotten all about Yahtzee actually) and to be honest he isn't wrong.
You do have to translate from insane Yahtzee to English (as always), but the points he makes aren't wrong and in the end he likes it despite its flaws.
