Did anyone here ever play "Natural Fawn Killers"??
Fun way to spend a couple of hours.
Walk or run around the area, rifle in hand, see a deer, or rabbit, activate scope, zoooooooooom in, and *POW*, their face flies off!! Collect enough "blood" to fill the pot in the time limit. Bears are a real PITA. Rifle doesn't do it, you need BIGGER!!
15 levels, I think. and the last one is a T-Rex you have to use the grenade launcher to lob grenades into its mouth about 5 times.

That's quite some cannon, given that the 'ball' in question is actually the sky/celestial sphere.
I've downloaded a demo of the sequel. I have to try this game.

That last level sounds awesome enough to justify the asking price by itself.

lol yeah, run backwards away from it, time your shots so the grenade enters its mouth as it roars, rinse and repeat. Don't get cornered on the "arena" walls while running backwards.
IIRC there were addon levels, but I can't remember ever having played those. This is another game from the dawn of 3d games....quirky, humorous and short....the night level is annoying : Needs moar gamma to see anything more than right under your rifle.

Oh, and any and every game in the Myst series, including Uru! There has never been a Myst game I didn't like to play. Let me rephrase that: there has never been a Myst game I didn't LOVE to play. Having those games on GOG would be way beyond godlike, and definite instabuy!
Other than that, I certainly agree about the D&D titles, definitely LucasArts, and any of the big publishers that remain such as Eidos, EA, Activition (I know we don't like them, but they do control some truly awesome franchises), and the like.

Abandonware is not a legal term and most titles offered for free on abandonware sites are still illegal to download. Solely because they stiill have an ongoing copyright. If a company stops supporting a game, distributing it, or even if the company goes bankrupt or shuts down, any titles made by that company is still illegal to copy and distribute if the copyright has not yet expired.

The clue is in the name. Abandonware is software that a company has openly declared it has no further desire to profit from. Examples include EA's Command & Conquer & Red Alert along with Bethesda's TES Arena & Daggerfall.

Yes it is true. If you have permission to distribute a game that is copyrighted you can do so.
My point was most games on abandonware sites are illegal to download, because such permission has not been given.
As for Red Alert, that is currently illegal to download for free. EA still sells it. You can find it in a package called C&C the First Decade. You can find it at most PC game retailers and even on the EA store website. Maybe EA or Westwood at one time offered it for free, but that is not true anymore. Just because a game is labled as "abandonware" doesn't mean it is legal to download.
