To buy DRM-free games of course!

First purchase: Riddick.
My cousin suggested me to try this game.
I did and I found myself in love with it, so I bought it.

Last purchase:
AC - took me good enough time to spot it on promo & have money for it.
GRID was planned as last purchase, but it didn't go on sale for the last 3-4 days of the summer sale or at least I haven't seen it.
First game: Baldurs Gate 1 - how possibly there could be other choice, even despite ive owned the box since original release :)
I joined to fill up my ScummVM library with adventure games that I didn't own from "back then". And to get Ultima 7.
I had been meaning to join for some time and when I was looking around the Fallout games were free so no time like the present. First paid money purchase was seemingly Deus Ex, but I'm going to say Divine Divinity, because I believe it was full price and because I like it more.
First Purchase: Star Control 1+2 (it was on sale at the time I joined)
Reason for joining: DRM-free games at reasonable prices
Apparently I didn't find GOG until June 25th 2011, which is a shame because this place is the bomb. Looks like I discovered it most likely because of a post in the Heroes of Might and Magic community somewhere, because my first purchase was the Heroes Chronicles series. It was great to be able to get all of those hard to complete scenarios in one amazingly cheap bundle.

I've returned randomly for sales and freebies, not really immersing myself until this last sale, where I finally joined in on these forums and bought almost 200 games/expansions/gifts.

I'm here to stay.
I came across GOG in 2009 scouring some (the more respectable) abandonware sites. I can't really recall what I was looking for. They had taken down some downloads and instead referred to here. I took a liking to this site immediately, oldies working out of the box for a reasonable price. Abandonware sites have always been a last resort for me.

First games I bought were Heroes of Might and Magic (a have a German DOS boxed version and was sick of trying to get it to run properly, also the German translation was botched) and Beyond Good and Evil (without realizing it was glitched on Win7, but I still have a backup XP).

I didn't take part in the community for a long time, just looking up the game specific forums when I had trouble. I only became active in the forums on Feb 5th this year after reading through 71 pages of a certain thread that had caught my eye a few days before and that shall be kept buried. I simply couldn't stop myself from replying, and while I was there and waiting for the answers (prepared to get flogged for intruding the discussion 1-rep-nobody that I was) I took a tour around the rest of the General Discussion.

Surprisingly everyone kept civil and friendly even with a "hot" topic and even the people I was arguing against. Made me feel right at home.

I discovered the site by looking up places to purchase physical copies of older games back in 2011. I did not know that anything like GOG existed, so when it appeared in a Google search, I was pretty shocked to say the least. I immediately picked up Gabriel Knights 1 and 2, the Police Quest series, and Under a Killing Moon. This was followed shortly thereafter by the Space Quest and Phantasmagoria games.

I was really excited to be able play these games since I had not been able to since I was a bit younger.

Thanks GOG! :)
Fallout bundle, also the fact that its DRM free. I've been watching gog for some time before I signed up. I couldn't resist the fallout deal. Now with witcher 3 coming soon.. I had to support..

As long as gog stays true to the clients I'll support it as I do in kickstarter too for those games that look promising.

Thanks Gog keep up the good work.

I was looking for Planescape: Torment everywhere and gog.com had the best chance of actually having it. So I created an account with the hope that it would eventually be released here.

I was right.

According to my purchase date sorting the first game I bought was Divine Divinity. First game I played from Gog.com was Beneath a Steel Sky.

My first purchase was the Thief pack. It was cheap, and I loved the first one. I hadn't played either of the others. Interesting enough, I still haven't. I have replayed the Dark Project though.
My first purchase on GOG was TW2. Why not TW1? Because I was fortunate to have been gifted that one. :D

Hadn't realised it till I went to check which one was my first purchase, but now I'm kind of proud it was TW2. :-)
First purchase was Ultima Underworld and Stonekeep
My first purchase was the witcher 2, still going strong with about 30-40 games purchased now- GOG are simply fantastic.

I joined as Egosoft decided it was in their best interest to become steam exclusive, unfortunately it wasn't in mine, so they lost my respect, custom and forum membership. Before I left, a fellow Ego forumite pointed me in the direction of GOG and their ideology and also enticed by a free copy of fallout, I have never looked back!
My first purchase was the Tesla Effect. It came with a voucher for another Tex Murphy game, so I picked up Mean Streets / Martian Memorandum to complete my set of Tex games (boxed version of the other games owned).

I like the approach GOG takes towards customer service , the DRM-free games and the effort they put into ensuring their games work.

This is the reason that GOG is my first port of call when I'm looking for a new game.
