olanorig: Already purchased the Complete Edition of Assassin's Creed from GG. But still haven't downloaded it or installed in my system, so I cannot tell. This is the second DRM (aside from Steam) that I will encounter and I have to swallow hard, because I want to experience Assassin's Creed 2 and AC Brotherhood. I'm reluctant to install it though, I'm kind of waiting for Ubisoft to patch the game and remove this DRM (maybe after AC 3?). But thanks to all who give the helpful information here, I might take the plunge and install it.

grinninglich: If you install and try we can learn the negative effects too. Can you do it? You've already bought the games and if you can try them that will be a great help for me/for others reluctant to install a Tages game on their system.
I'm happy to announce that I successfully installed the game and currently played it in offline mode, like steam does. The installation was smooth, the game and uplay automatically updated and patch the game. I don't see message regarding Tages installation (maybe silently installed?), but I played the game smoothly and without problem. The game crashed once, but starting the game offline fix this problem. In order to play it offline, login to uplay while online, click setting (the gear icon beside account name) tick the option: Start uplay in Offline Mode, close and restart the game while offline. I don't see any error or system crash or something. But whats with the Vibration On in the game menu? does this vibrate my mouse or keyboard? haha :D Anyone interested buying Assassin's Creed 2 and AC Brotherhood I suggest grab it now, they are on sale at Gamersgate now. I have the Complete Edition.

Edit: By the way, while playing online any Achievements you made gives you points that you can Redeem and it gives you bonuses, extra weapons, wallpapers, additional outfits. Which I think was so cool, while Steam Achievements gives you nothing.

I have no experience with Tages.

I intend to keep it that way. :)

keeveek: Horrible. Tages is one of the hardest to delete piece of shit from your system. At least it was when they introduced that shit. And I hate it ever since.
This. I bought Silverfall plus it's expansion a year ago or so on retail because a friend found it really cheap and asked if we could play co-op. Apparently I did something wrong as it messed up my DVD-rom and I had to do some messing (nothing major but still a hassle) before I got both the game and the DRM gone from my system.

Fortunately the game wasn't exactly fun so we didn't continue to play and that's about the only bad experience I've had with a DRM game.

Suffice to say: AVOID IT!!

I went to GamersGate and took a look at the prices, very nice promo indeed. May I suggest you buy the games then search for game fixes? Just google around and use common sense. ;)
No problems what-so-ever with tages used in digital delivery form.

Good that it worked for you. About that achievement system that sounded pretty awesome. I'll have to read up on that.
I am only aware of Tages being on 1 of my games - Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena DVD version. Didn't have any problems, though I only installed it once so far.
Wow! I got lucky. I buy Assassin's Creed Complete for $20 when it went on sale in GG. Now the current price is $110. good thing I have the money while it was on sale.
